
Miles Alexander Teller (born February 20, 1987) is an American actor best known for his roles in Whiplash as jazz drummer Andrew Neiman and Top Gun: Maverick as pilot Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw. Teller made his feature film debut in 2010 and rose to fame for his leading roles opposite Shailene Woodley in the coming-of-age drama, The Spectacular Now in 2013 and the Divergent film trilogy in 2014–2016.
His breakthrough came with his performance in the 2014 Academy Award-winning drama Whiplash, which brought him widespread acclaim. After Whiplash, Miles Teller established himself as a leading man, appearing in several love comedies, the superhero movie Fantastic Four (2015), and the biographical movies War Dogs and Bleed for This (2016), among others.
Teller appeared in the action film Top Gun: Maverick in 2022. The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski, with whom Teller previously worked on the film Only the Brave (2017). They collaborated once more for the Netflix film Spiderhead (2022). Miles Teller has appeared on television in the Amazon crime drama Too Old to Die Young (2019) and the Paramount+ miniseries The Offer (2022) based on The Godfather.
