Why I Wear Tom Ford Perfume to Bed

If the pandemic, quarantine, and the latest surge in cases (which has kept many of us inside) have stopped you from indulging in your favorite luxury fragrances, I'm here to tell you to cut out that nonsense right now.

First off, who says perfume can only be enjoyed if you're going out? And second, who says you can't just wear it for yourself?

I decided to adopt these rules in quarantine, and honestly it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

For the past 18 or so months, I've been grabbing a bottle of perfume and spritzing it on right after I'm freshly showered and about to hop into bed. To some, this may seem like a waste, but the good mood I'm put into right before I shut my eyes makes it all worth it.

As of late, I've been into Tom Ford's Tubéreuse Nue, a light floral scent that brings me back to my childhood.

The blend of tuberose absolute India orpur, szechuan peppercorn, and suede accord come together to create a clean, fresh, and bouquet-like scent that puts me into an uplifting mood before bed.

Don't believe me? Well, just take a look at this 2005 study published in the Oxford University Press.

The research found that certain fragrances not only have the ability to positively affect one's mood, but the stress-relieving benefits can also help to relax tight muscles after a tough day.

While Tubéreuse Nue may go for over $300 a pop, if you've got it, I don't think there's anything wrong with spending some extra cash on yourself. Plus, you'll only need about one spritz on your neck or chest before bed to send you to la la land. So expect to have this bottle on your vanity for quite some time.

Another thing to note is that, of course, it's a delicious scent to wear out on a special occasion. But who says making it to bed at night isn't cause for celebration, too?
